With lights going up and holiday tunes beginning to play throughout the streets, it’s time to start reviewing your calendars and scheduling the fun-filled weeks to come.
Every year, Venetians gather on our famed canals to watch and cheer the creative, festive and crazy boats parading up and down the canals dressed up in holiday garb. Friends, family and neighbors all ring in the Holiday season in a manner truly unique to Venice. Rarely can you find a place where such an eclectic, creative and fun group of people live, so rarely can you experience anything quite like the Holiday Boat Parade on the canals in Venice.
The 29th Annual Holiday Boat Parade will be this Sunday, December 12th starting at 4pm at the corner of Carol Canal and Grand Canal. Residents on the canals hold an annual twinkle light decorating contest as well, so once the sun sets you’ll see all the bridges and many of the homes festively lit up.
Have you been to the Holiday Boat Parade in the past? Are you planning on attending this year? Please leave your comments below.
