Santa Monica Dirt by John Hathorn, June 28th, 2012
It’s always a little strange when a holiday like this falls mid-week but the advantage is that you have plenty of time to plan ahead for optimum celebrating.
If you have not watched the fireworks from the cemetery near Santa Monica College you really should try it this year on Saturday night. Bring some blankets and lawn chairs and get there early to stake out a great spot.
With the Olympics in progress and our national elections just around the corner, you may find yourself feeling more patriotic than usual. If so, you can get out again on Wednesday to Palisades High or Malibu and see more fireworks displays or for a super local experience, a trip up to the Franklin or Berkeley Hill will give you a great view of the display that the Brentwood Country Club puts on.

Active/ Available New Listings

New Sales (Now In Escrow/ Sale Pending)
408 17th St. – 5bd + 4.5ba. $3,295,000. This is one of my favorite remodeled homes in the neighborhood. It was tastefully redone a few years ago, sold to an A- list actor and re-sold a few years after that. Much of the original charm remains.
