What is your name?
Loraine Silver

When your sign?
Taurus

Who are your parents?
My mother Jeanette Wainer lives in South Africa. My Father passed away years ago.

Where were you born and where did you grow up?
I was born in South Africa and grew up in Johannesburg. I moved here to Los Angeles in the 1970s with husband and three children.

What is your greatest achievement professionally?
I sold the first home North of Montana for over one million dollars.

What is your motto?
To appreciate the simple things in life.

What do you read every day?
I read a lot! Mostly casual, light reading fiction.

Do you feel rich? Successful? Happy?
I feel happy and blessed.

What do you love about the real estate business?
All the paper work (wink)

If you were not in the real estate business, what would you be doing/ as a career?
I would be a yoga instructor and travel more.

What were you doing prior to your career in real estate?
I have a master degree in social work. I was working as a social worker when I lived in South Africa. My education is actually very helpful in this line of work.

What are your post real estate business plans?
To travel more- my next must see destination is India and Turkey.

If you were the mayor of Los Angeles, what is the first thing you would change about the city and what would you fight to keep the same?
I would implement very strict gun control laws.

What is your favorite saying?
Perfect!

Who is your mentor?
Tim Corliss, he was a Westside real estate legend!

What’s your idea of the perfect Saturday afternoon?
Spending the afternoon with one of my six(!) grandchildren.

Who is your hero? Why?
Mick Jagger. Why? He is Mick Jagger!

Do you feel the world needs more people like you?
No, definitely not, I am too crazy!

Give advice to someone 20 years younger.
Buy investment property as soon as possible.

What gadget can you not live without, besides a cell phone and email?
My Vitamix machine.

How do you deal with antagonists?
Ignore them and move on.

What is people’s biggest misperception about you?
That I am a push over.

Do you prefer to be feared or loved?
I prefer to be loved.

What’s been your greatest disappointment?
That I did not buy more Real Estate.

What if anything do you collect?
I love to collect antique jewelry.
