Good news – Turns out Santa Monica tourists have been busy spending more money this summer than ever before. The average daily group spending rose by about $30 and hotel guests spent almost $150 more per night averaging about $887. Santa Monica’s economy is heavily supported by tourism so these numbers are good news for the city. Santa Monica is now also embracing more visitors from China. Last year 4.4 million visitors came to Santa Monica from outside of the United States while 1.72 billion dollars were generated by tourists.  In 2014 13,700 jobs were supported by tourism in Santa Monica! So, say “yes” to those visiting in-laws this holiday season!
