Santa Monica Dirt: La Mesa Dirt

A house on La Mesa has been a very hot topic these past few weeks and even made the evening news this week as the City Council heard arguments for and against an Emergency Ordinance which if adopted, would prevent the owner of the home from hosting fundraising events.

My real estate group has done business with the owner of the home – and was asked to support her in her fight with the City over her use of the property. A sticky situation for us at PHS! Not only do we hope to do business with this owner, but there are other past and potential future clients that we are also friendly with on La Mesa.

I sympathize with both the owner and the disgruntled neighbors. I am 100% supportive of property rights and the freedom that goes with owning property but I am not so sure how I would feel if I lived next to the home that has been described in the news (probably a little exaggerated if I had to guess).

In any case, it is an unbelievable house. In 25+ years of selling real estate I have not seen anything this unique. Please check out the “La Mesa House of Rock” and let me know if you have $22 million and want to buy it!
