Last weekend was the start of something beautiful…Football Season! For those who don’t have the full sports package at home, it means it’s time to find a sports bar to spend some quality time this fall. Here are some of my Santa Monica favorites:
Sonny McLeans– Irish Pub with pretty good bar food, 40 beers on tap and a full bar. With 23 flat screens you’ve got a decent shot at a good view of your team. Metered parking.
Busby’s West– Ranked Best Sports bar in Santa Monica by MSN (and 3rd in the Nation!) it gets packed so get there early for a good spot. They label the TVs so you can easily find your preferred match-up. Full bar and extensive menu- they even have breakfast options for those 10am games! Valet or some metered parking spots, or try your luck in the residential streets behind.
Barney’s Beanery– Located on the promenade, which is convenient if not everyone in your party wants to watch 4 hours of football on Sunday, it is big enough to find a table most of the time. Huge menu, tons of beer on tap, and TV overload! Santa Monica parking garages take the guess work out of finding a spot.
McCabes Bar– They may not have the biggest beer selection, and the food is what you’d expect at your average dive bar, but there are an adequate number of flat screens. This is a great go-to spot when the other sports bars are too packed or you get a late start. Plenty of table space so you can get a spot right in front of your desired game. Metered parking usually available right out front.
