Speaking of Montana Avenue, two of our most tenured restaurants on the street are no longer in business. After 20 years Café Montana has shut down, at first it appeared to be closed for remodeling but now we are told they are not reopening. It will be replaced by a new restaurant called Ox & Son which is owned by the Art’s Table people. You may recall Art’s Table replaced Babalu earlier this year. No news on the Ox & Son menu, created by Bradley Miller, as of yet.

Sadly, 17TH Street Café also shut down after 16 years, the original owner bought back the restaurant two years ago and changed the name to Jack’s on Montana. Despite making changes and all Jack’s efforts, the restaurant is no longer in business. The owners of Pecorino will be opening an Italian restaurant and cheese bar, Formaggio, doors most likely will open sometime early next year.
