Halloween is just around the corner! Santa Monica residents – particularly north of Montana Ave. have, for years, gone all out in preparation, celebrating as a community. Check out the corner of 16th and Georgina, all of 24th and 25th and even Montana Avenue, which will be particularly festive this year – nothing short of spooktacular! You will see that home owners go all out on Halloween night.
This weekend the Aero Theatre is featuring Halloween classics. Beginning Friday night, grab tickets for the screening of the original Ghostbusters. Or on Saturday participate in the annual All Night Horrorthon beginning at 7:30pm. Enjoy free food, monster energy drinks, giveaways and special surprises. Sunday is a double feature of Dracula and Dracula’s Daughter, with a special book signing by David J. Skal, his book is Something in the Blood: The Untold Story of Bram Stoker, the Man Who Wrote Dracula.
The annual Montana Avenue Halloween Hop is this Monday October 31st from 3 – 6pm. You may not be aware of my office tradition with the entire Pence Hathorn Silver team. Each year we choose a theme and as a collaborative effort we dress in fun costumes. Check out photos of a few previous years from 2012, 2013 and 2014. This year we are at it again, stop by our office to see for yourself and of course we will be handing out plenty of candy.

Here is real estate info from the past 7 days:
234 Marguerita Avenue – is new on the market and will probably sell immediately as it is a much sought after land value lot listed for about $416 per sq ft. The insignificant house is a 4 bedroom, 4 baths. The list price is $5,200,000. Popular location – West of 7th Street. The lot is a spacious 12,562 sq ft and it is just half a block from Ocean Avenue. Definitely, a one-of-a-kind developer’s dream lot and location. Last sold for $185,000 in May 1975!
Now Under Contract:
2121 La Mesa Drive has finally sold after many months on the market. 5 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. A price reduction to $16,500,000 did the trick. This home was listed (not with me) at a whopping $23,000,000 in February 2015. Originally designed by renowned architect Peter Choate and redone several times by others, this home features stunning views of the Riviera Golf Course. Last sold in April 2013 for $11,225,000.
