Swimsuit Shopping: Every Woman’s Nightmare

Even though it’s only March, it’s never too early to swimsuit shop in Los Angeles.  You never know when you will have a perfect 80 degree day (like last Saturday) that you just have to spend at the pool or beach.

I currently have three swimsuits in my closet.  Two of them are too big and the other one I don’t even like.  When we were given the task of writing a blog for work, I decided the best thing for me to do was shop and blog about it.  Shopping is what I do best.

Our office received a post card in the mail for $10 off at Bikini, a swim wear shop located at 705 Montana Avenue. Despite working on Montana for over a year and a half, I had never heard of Bikini and decided to give it a shot.  When it comes to swimsuit shopping, my experience at Bikini was as good as you can get.

A few key points about Bikini:

1. Selection – The store is very small and they don’t have a huge selection, but they have enough that you should be able to find something you like. Most of the swimsuits are bikinis and most are a solid color. A few have prints and one even has fringe on the top. They have a decent selection of one pieces, if that is more your style. They also have a cute selection of cover ups, hats and other assorted beach wear.

2. Price – I walked out of the store with a two-piece for $168. Not bad at all considering I bought a bikini a few years ago for a lot more money and it quickly faded. You can go to Target and get something much cheaper, but as much as I hate swimsuit shopping, I would rather go for quality.

3. Service – Bikini provided excellent service. I worked with a woman named Anita who was extremely helpful. I told her what I was looking for and she brought me 6 different colors and cuts to try on. She was also very honest in letting me know which color and cuts flattered me the most.

4. Rewards Program – My favorite part of the store is the rewards program. Once you make a purchase, you are automatically entered into their rewards program. I received a coupon for $15 off any purchase during the month of March. I might have to make a trip back to purchase the cute cover up I was looking at.

So ladies, do you have any swimsuit shopping horror stories you would like to share?  Or maybe you have been a customer of Bikini and can give some insight into the long term quality of Bikini’s products.  I’d love to hear your thoughts.
